The Allach Moriskens are smaller reproductions of the original wooden Moriskens crafted by Erasmus Grasser in the 15th Century. Of the original 16 Moriskens created by Grasser, only 10 survived when Richard Forster was contracted by the City of Munich in 1937 to make smaller (1/3 scale) porcelain representations of the originals. Forster made six such models for Allach, however only 5 were ever placed into production. Approximately 500-700 of each of the 5 models were produced. The Moor being the first in 1939, and the Bauer being the last in 1943. The Moriskens were never made for public sale. All pieces were made for, and purchased by the city of Munich as gift for visiting dignitaries.

The city of Munich paid Allach Porcelain 20 Reich Marks for each completed Morisken, which included a booklet and impressive presentation box.
