| Of the many types of plates produced at Allach, most collectable are the Presentation Plates. They fall in two categories known as the Presentation Julfest Plates and the Police plates. Of all presentation plates, most noteworthy were the plates produced for the Reichfuehrer himself, Heinrich Himmler. These plates were all white porcelain, and were decorated with Runes, Germanic symbols, swords and eagles. When looking for a quote for his 1943 plate, Himmler chose the famous German warrior Fredrick the Great. These are known as the Presentation Julfest Plates. They were presented by Himmler himself. The years of production known at this time were 1940 through 1944. The Police Plates were the least produced Plate. They are the most desirable outside of possibly the 1940 Presentation Julfest Plate and the SS Ruins Plate among Allach Collectors. These plates have a central design of the German Police Eagle and Wreath. On most Plates the border inscription is green in color. On a very few the inscription is gold. These were given as an Honor Prize for the German Police Athletic Championship by Himmler and the German Chief of Police. The most abundant of all are the series of plates produced for Oswald Pohl (SS chief of economic policy). The Pohl plates greatly differed from those produced for Himmler. The Pohl plates have color decor's with different floral rrangements such as snowdrops, pink crocuses, as well as quotes from poets such as Hebbel on the 1944 plate. These are named the Julfest Plates and were produced to the best of our knowledge in the years 1941 through 1944. These Plates were given out by Pohl himself although there is some speculation that these were also made available for sale to the German public. | |
