Police Presentation Plates

Physical education and sporting competitions were a vital part of the training and indoctrination of the new Third Reich police force as it had been in the training of the earlier Imperial (1877-1918) and Weimar (1919-1933) era police forces. Sports and physical training continued to be an important ingredient in the SS plan for the police. The various sport competitions were very popular among the police forces with several preliminary contests held in order for only the best to be able to compete. These sporting events would continue until the beginning of the war in September of 1939.
